2. Homer was a blind story teller, who wrote the Illiad and the Odyssey

1. Pericles was born in the 5th century and his father was a politician while his mother was part of the royal family
2. He ruled/remained in power for 32 years
3. At the age 18, boys HAD to serve in the army, it was mandatory
4. Pericles had 3 goals for the time of the Golden age; strengthen democracy, expand their empire, make athens more beautiful
